Who is Eve Arnold?

Eve arnold was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Russian immigrant parents. She began photographing in 1946, while working in a photo finishing factory in New York, then studied photography in 1948 with Alexei Brodovitch to the New York School for Social Research.

Arnold first teamed up with Magnum Photos in 1951 and became a full member in 1957. She was based in the United States in the 1950s but went to England in 1962 to educate her son. except for a six-year gap when she worked in the US and China, she lived in the UK for the rest of her life.

His stay in China led to his first major solo exhibition at Brooklyn museum in 1980 The same year, she received the National book award for In China and Lifetime Achievement Award de l 'American Society of Magazine Photographers.

Over the following years, she received many other honors and awards. In 1995, she was named a member of the Royal Photographic Society and elected Master Photographer – the most prestigious photographic distinction in the world – by theInternational Center of Photography in New York. Eve died in January 2012.
